JOB SUMMARY
The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the transportation operations of the company. He/ She is responsible for coordinating the activities of the lead schedule planner and the transport and logistics supervisors to ensure efficient and effective transportation services. The Transport Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing logistics processes, enhancing productivity, and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.Following are the requirements :- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics management.- Strong knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and industry best practices.- Excellent leadership and management skills to effectively oversee a team of transportationprofessionals.- Proficiency in using transportation management systems and software.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, externalservice providers, and customers.- Proven ability to manage transportation budgets, control costs, and negotiate contracts with serviceproviders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Roles & Responsibilities :- Develop and implement transportation strategies, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency and meet business objectives.- Manage and coordinate all transportation activities, including route planning, fleet management,driver scheduling, and vehicle maintenance.- Monitor transportation operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, transportation laws,and company policies.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales, warehousing, and customer service teams, toensure smooth transportation of goods and timely deliveries.- Lead and supervise a team of transportation professionals, providing guidance, training, andperformance feedback.- Conduct regular performance reviews of the lead schedule planner and transport and logisticssupervisor.
