Job Summary
We seek a TVETA-certified Catering Instructor Tutor with strong practical skills in food & beverage production, service, housekeeping, and laundry. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related field and have at least four years of teaching experience.

Job Description/Requirements
· Should be a TVETA trainer
· Very good with Practical for both Food and Beverage production and food and service.
· Good in House-Keeping and Laundry.
· At least Bachelor’s Degree Qualification in a Hospitality related Field
· Good interpersonal skills with ability to build harmonious relationships with students.
· Must have developed good intercultural orientation and strong public relations skills.
· At least three (4) years relevant experience in a similar position.
· Ability to multi-task and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Have interest to work with the poor
· At least 2 years of experience in this field.
Duties and Responsibilities
· To provide a supportive learning environment for students to develop graduate level and subject specific skills.
· To participate in the delivery of Diploma and Certificate programs.
· To develop and implement teaching and learning initiatives.
· Teaching and Learning Support.
· To design inductions to modules and programs for students, adapting delivery to suit learners’ needs.
· To design and deliver one off lectures or workshops as required, providing feedback on performance.
· To develop and design course content and materials, ensuring compliance with the quality standards and regulations of the College and department.
· Develop and research own teaching materials, methods and approaches with guidance and ensure that content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet defined learning objectives.
· To conduct seminars and tutorials, introducing new methods of delivery where required.
· To assess students overall performance, through setting/ marking program work, practical sessions, supervisions, fieldwork and examinations, providing appropriate feedback to students.
· To challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.
· To supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills and help them with learning problems.
· To engage every individual student one on one in both practical and theory.
· Mentor the boys and girls to become responsible persons in the community.
· Any other responsibilities assigned by management in performance of duties.

Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC) is a faith-based charitable organization supporting communities in the informal settlements of Mukuru, South B, Nairobi. The Sisters of Mercy founded MPC in 1985 in response to the community challenges in the Mukuru Informal Settlements. It is situated at the heart of the Industrial Area, along the New Likoni Road just 1 km off Mombasa Road and borders the Mukuru Kayaba Informal Settlement.
MPC endeavors to empower the Mukuru community through education, health, welfare and social rehabilitation services.
About Our Lady of Mercy Vocational Training Centre
Our Lady of Mercy Vocational Training Centre is one of the 9 programs under Mukuru promotion Centre managed by the Sisters of Mercy. Its main purpose is to support the vulnerable youths from Mukuru slums and its environs by empowering them with skills in various fields so that it can improve their economic status and be able to sustain themselves.
Courses offered: Computer studies, Tailoring and dressmaking, Garment making, Hair dressing and beauty, Catering (food and beverage), Plumping and masonry, Welding and fabrication, Art and craft, DEEJAY.
Catering in food and beverage is a 2-year course which includes house-keeping and laundry. We are looking for qualified personnel to fill in the position of Catering Instructor.
