JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Building Supervisor with 10 years of work experience and a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day site operations, supervise the construction workforce, ensure quality control, and oversee contract administration. This role offers the opportunity to work in Kenya or any of our sister companies within the East Africa region.Qualifications:Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering.10 years of work experience in building supervision, construction site management, or related roles.Proven ability to supervise a construction team, ensuring high-quality work and effective resource utilization.Experience in contract administration, maintaining site documentation, and following project specifications.Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and site material management.Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate teams.Ability to effectively manage site accounts, ensure budget adherence, and report project status to senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage overall site operations and ensure projects are executed according to plan, schedule, and budget.Work diligently under the direction of senior site foremen, ensuring smooth operations and effective execution of tasks.Supervise and guide craftspeople on-site, ensuring the efficient use of resources and maintaining the highest standards of work quality.Implement contract administration procedures, ensuring full compliance with project drawings and specifications.Ensure compliance with tests, sample requirements, and quality control processes; monitor workmanship and workforce effectiveness. Update drawing lists and manage extra work lists.Order and monitor site materials and machinery requirements, ensure timely deliveries, and follow up on any delays or issues.Coordinate with senior management for maintenance orders and ensure machinery is well-maintained and operational.Translate project drawings, sketches, and specifications to site staff; ensure accurate site surveys, measurements, levels, and plumbing. Propose cost-effective alternatives when necessary to minimize contract costs.Manage site workforce and petty cash accounts, attending daily/weekly site management meetings and contract site meetings.Oversee the delivery of site money, ensure proper checking, and recheck site accounts before submitting them to senior management.
