Our client is one of the banks in the market. They are looking for a Branch Manager for their Mombasa branch.
The Branch Manager will be responsible for achieving and exceeding branch targets in quality risk asset creation and deposit mobilization. This will be accomplished through effective relationship management and oversight of team leads handling customer accounts.
H/She will be responsible for developing, growing and managing customer relationships and for increasing the Bank’s revenue through marketing of the banks products and services to identified Branch Customers while ensuring maximum profitability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive implementation of annual marketing plans and strategies for designated product ranges to achieve the Branch's targeted growth objectives.
- Achieve profitability targets through revenue maximization and prudent cost management.
- Grow and monitor the branch liability and asset portfolios to achieve business targets.
- Grow the customer base and retain existing clients by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and effective cross-selling.
- Overall management of the branch through efficient utilization of resources.
- Delivery of excellent customer service through maintenance of high service standards.
- Contribute to the effective launching of new products to ensure favourable market response and optimum build-up of revenue.
- Evaluate market research and competitor analyses in order to formulate marketing plans and strategies to counter the same.
- Monitor and assign targets to Relationship Managers/Officers to ensure effective focus on target achievement.
- Maintain and acquire customer relationships to improve deposit liability growth and mix.
- Provide strategic direction and operational support to employees, empowering them to effectively execute daily tasks and achieve corporate targets and objectives.
- Communicate effectively to employees, the corporate policies, objectives & targets of the bank.
- Ensure compliance to Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework.
- Motivate, coach & develop a high-performance team to meet set deliverables.
- Provide continuous leadership, supervision, training & development of department staff ensuring an effective and motivated team.
- Liaise with the HR department in conducting performance appraisals and ensure competency and training gaps are addressed.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (with an MBA, MSC or its equivalent) and/or Professional Qualification in Banking related disciplines
- Professional qualification in Customer Relationship Management and Sales & Marketing
- At least 5 years’ experience in general banking and 3 of which should have been handling Branch Management.
- Must have experience in Sales, Personal/Business/or Retail Banking.
- Experience in Bank operations covering Cash Management, Clearing, Accounts, Credit analysis and Administration.
- A thorough knowledge of Corporate Banking products and services, and extensive Banking Industry knowledge.
- Must have sound knowledge of the dynamics of a bank’s core operating systems, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of the operational risk issues and policies as well as CBK clearing rules and procedures.
- Dynamic, analytical and self-driven individual with the ability to work under pressure, maintaining a professional and helpful attitude at all times
- Superior Relationship Management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving high-performance management.
