JOB SUMMARY

As an Onboarding Specialist, you'll be the accounting expert ensuring smooth transitions for new clients onto our accounting systems. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential, with familiarity in QuickBooks Desktop and Xero being advantageous. You’ll be responsible for gathering client documentation, converting accounting methods, setting up charts of accounts, and establishing month-end close processes. Effective project management and clear communication are key, as you'll work with multiple clients and guide them through our structured onboarding playbook. Your role will help set clients up for success, ultimately handing them over to a bookkeeper for ongoing maintenance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities: - Needs to be VERY proficient in QuickBooks Online—an expert!  - Helpful if they are also familiar with QuickBooks Desktop and Xero (just so they know how to extract data from those systems and get them into QuickBooks Online, if needed)   Activities & Responsibilities: - Be the accounting expert onboarding all new clients to our accounting systems  - Gather all needed client documentation  - Be able to convert cash-basis clients to accrual-basis, if needed  - Set up the chart of accounts  - Set up the entire month-end close process (using the templates/tools we provide them) - Communicate with clients on any questions  - Set up the monthly reporting template (using templates/tools we provide them)  - Essentially, implement our playbook with new clients and then hand the client off to a bookkeeper for ongoing maintenance  Required Hard & Soft Skills: - communicate clearly in writing in English (they will need to send information requests to clients)  - very good project management—they'll be working with many clients at once and will need to be efficient with their time   Desired Hard & Soft Skills: - loves learning!!! - enjoys working on multiple clients - can give me feedback on how to improve the process as we go  

REQUIRED SKILLS

Accounting, Accounting IT-systems (use of), Financial analysis, Bookkeeping

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree
