Position: Project Officer (Senior Level); Local Poultry Rearing and Livelihood Support Projects

Duties and responsibilities.

· Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and implementation to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

· Provide technical guidance and training to program participants on poultry rearing best practices, business management, and financial literacy.

· Build strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to ensure project sustainability and impact.

· Manage project finances, resources, and logistics effectively and transparently.

· Identify and address potential challenges and opportunities to maximize project success.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.

· Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in agricultural practices, with a focus on poultry rearing and farming.

· Demonstrable success in managing and growing an agricultural business.

· Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a talent for training and mentoring.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

· Passion for community development and improving livelihoods.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as reporting, evaluating, and planning.

Ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems and issues

Demonstrate ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Good planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

A keen understanding of business/enterprise development and development issues including Groups Savings and Loan approaches added an advantage.

Proficient in computer and organizational skills; ability to use other digital tools for data entry, research, and data collection.

The ability to communicate fluently in (English, Swahili, and Dholuo languages will be an added advantage

Job Requirements

Education: At least a Diploma in Agricultural Extension, Livestock production, Entrepreneurship, or a related field in social science. A bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage

Work Experience:

· Experience in IT and digital marketing platforms will be an added advantage.

· Working experience within the field of agricultural extension will be an added advantage.
