Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate financial records for all company transactions.
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Update accounts payable and receivable.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  
• Ensure timely completion of all financial closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  
• Monitor cash flow and ensure the accuracy of cash transactions.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and payable.

Taxation & Compliance:

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.).
  
• Stay up to date with tax laws and ensure compliance with government regulations.

Payroll Management:

• Assist in payroll processing and ensure the correct deduction of statutory contributions.
  
• Manage staff expense claims and reimbursements.

Audit Support:

• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  
• Liaise with auditors to provide accurate information.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement opportunities for improving accounting processes and reducing costs.
  
• Ensure the maintenance of internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel).
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary Range:

Ksh 30,000 - 50,000 per month, depending on experience.
