Job Summary

The position of the accountant exists in the organization for maintenance of the highest level of accounting standards as prescribed for such organizations by the certified accounting bodies and regulatory authorities. The occupant of the office must ensure conformity and compliance with all set accounting principles and subscribe to the highest standards of integrity in execution of his/her duties.

Job Description/Requirements

You shall report to the manager and any other senior office as the management may assign. You are expected to follow the laid down organization structure and respect the laid down reporting lines foe effective performance of your role. 

Your work station will be at guided by the management from time to time. You shall perform but not limited to the following roles: 

●Following through subcontracts to ensure they meet the expected standard and are completed in time and within budgets.

●Receive all requisitions from different departments through the management system and other platforms. 

●Receive budgets from all the departments through the management system and other platforms 

●Getting quotations from suppliers, analyzing them and proposing most reasonable suppliers based on quality, cost, terms of sale and other important variables.

●Following through supplies to ensure that the purchase orders are delivered within time to ensure there are no shortages of supplies. This also involves following through the process of receiving physically as well as in the system to ensure correct quality and quantities are received and all goods delivered meet expected standards. 

●Approving and apportioning casual work to assist in areas of shortfall or occasional need to remove uncalled for delays and escalation of workload challenges. 

●Monitoring of casual labour to ensure proper performance and value for money 

●Ensure there exist a proper register and records relating to all assets in the three institutions, the same should be fed into the management system and files and updating the same duly. 

●Monitor usage and maintenance of assets and inventory to unsure longevity of service and minimize repair and maintenance costs.

●Facilitate proper allocation of assets and inventory and provide for efficient handover processes for inventory and assets.

●Survey and recommend revenue collections channels that the institutions can explore to improve revenue collection.

●Seal all avenues of revenue leakages, unnecessary expenditure and streamline all spending to achieve value for every coin spent.

●Study research and recommend alternatives that are cost effective and efficient through which the institutional expenditure can be most cost effective.

●Manage the available farming spaces through the available workforce and casuals where need be to make possible supplementation of the food budget in the organizations.

●Recommend approaches in which maximum benefits can be achieved from the available land.

●Supervise the day to day operations in the shambas ensuring they are maintained in the most productive form possible.

●Curb cases of embezzlement, wastage and misappropriation of financial resources

●Preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

●Confirming all entries of stock into the system and ensuring that the data in the system ia accurate and up to date. 

●Documenting financial transactions by entering account information.

●Recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options.

●Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.

●Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents.

●Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

●Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

●Securing financial information by completing data base backups.

●Maintaining financial security by following internal controls.

●Preparing payment documents by verifying documentation, and forwarding the same to the manager for onward processing.
