Job Description/Requirements

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Nairobi 

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: CFO/HOF/Directors


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

    • Conduct bank reconciliations, tax filings, and statutory payments on time.

    • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to support decision-making.

    • Process payroll, employee benefits, and expense reports while ensuring accuracy.


Accounting Systems and Procedures

    • Lead the system migration from Tally to Odoo ERP system.

    • Set up systems and standard operating procedures for the department.


Strategic Financial Support

    • Provide financial insights to management for informed decision-making.

    • Assist in cost control, revenue analysis, and financial planning.

    • Implement best accounting practices to enhance operational efficiency.


Compliance & Auditing

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and financial policies.

    • Coordinate internal and external audits and provide necessary documentation.

    • Identify and mitigate financial risks through strong control measures.


Key Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.

    • Proven experience in financial management, reporting, and auditing.

    • Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and MS Excel.

    • High ethical standards, honesty, and integrity.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

    • Ability to work and make decisions independently.

    • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment.
