Job Description/Requirements
Our client is a private secondary school offering the 8-4-4 curriculum. The school offers a place where young people can pursue academic excellence together with human and spiritual maturity.
The vision of the school is to form responsible citizens through education with a firm Christian foundation. The School Principal will be responsible for all the operations of the school. He/she will ensure that the school’s vision and objectives are met and the school is run effectively for the achievement of academic excellence. The position requires a strategic team leader with talent, knowledge, skills and attitude for the production of all rounded students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guiding and supervising curriculum implementation and ensuring compliance with government policies in education.
- Developing and maintaining high standards of discipline among students and staff.
- Facilitating mentorship, induction and desirable capacity building programs for the staff.
- Facilitating supervision and appraisal of staff and preparing regular appraisal reports on staff performance.
- Timely preparation and presentation of School Budget for approval by the Board of Directors and monitoring expenditure.
- Maintaining proper records of all meetings, policies and other relevant documents.
- Drive innovation, marketing and publicity; ensuring that the school maintains high standards in every front
- Perform administrative work on the day to day running of the school.
- Carrying out all other duties as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time
Requirements:
The person eligible for appointment should possess the following attributes:
- Applicants must be holders of a Bachelors’ degree in Education (or any other degree with a masters or postgraduate diploma in education).
- Be registered by Teachers Service Commission
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in a senior management position: – Deputy Principal or Principal in a Secondary school
- Be Computer Literate
- Have Sound Leadership, Planning, Organizational and Report writing skills
- Have a proven capacity to initiate the development of the school in all aspects including academic and co- curricular activities.
- Demonstrate an ability to be innovative and transformative in the growth and development of the school.
- He/She must have strong interpersonal skills together with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Terms of Employment:
- I year Renewable Contract
- Probation period for the first 3 Months
