Job Description: Head of Buying Operations

• Managing a team with multiple sub-divisions in order to procure products from suppliers to Jumia warehouse in a timely manner 
• Management of relationships with large supplier accounts to monitor performance and build strong operations processes
• Building monitoring tools to ensure the team is meeting their KPIs
• Animating our portfolio of marketplace vendors in order to always improve performance and sales
• Building a university to train young graduates to be the Jumia expert for our vendors
• Building mobile hubs within supplier’s warehouse to onboard thousands of products and integrate supplier into Jumia
• Running long term projects to always improve customer experience (same day delivery, lower non-conformity rate, etc).

Qualification & Skills

Degree in Engineering/ Business/ Project Management/ Purchasing & Supply strongly recommended

Entrepreneurial spirit and process oriented

Excellent experience dealing with local & international suppliers

Knowledge of the retail industry preferred

Excellent computer skills

Very smart and independent
