Gym Supervisor

Location: Ruaka

Reports to: Property Managers

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, while maintaining an excellent standard of customer service.
• Effectively supervise all activities going on within the gym, steam and sauna areas.
• Ensure health and safety is to the highest standard and that clients are advised on the effective and safe use of all equipment.
• Take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of the equipment and the satisfactory appearance of the gym, steam & sauna to ensure the meeting of clients’ expectations.
• Work independently to set up, pack up, and proactively provide assistance to all clients using the fitness equipment each day as well as managing the steam & sauna areas.

Personal Specification

Qualifications and Experience required

• Gym Instructor qualification from an accredited institution
• At least 2 year experience as a gym instructor with knowledge in fitness assessment, evaluation, program designs, instructing, and steam& sauna operation.
• First Aid certificate valid for the duration of the contract.
• Experience of delivering a variety of exercise classes.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Knowledge of current fitness industry developments.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients of all ages, management, and other staff.
• Able to work independently and on own initiative.
• Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships.
