Job Description/Requirements
The position reports to the Board of Directors.
- Approved strategic plan and its successful implementation
- Sustainable fundraising strategy.
- Development and implementation of appropriate structures, systems, processes and staff in all departments including, but not limited to HR, Finance and Materials Management.
- Strengthening of existing partnerships that promote the Kenya Cancer Association’s strategic plan.
- Appropriate identification and development of a tangible number of new local and international partners within and outside of cancer industry players.
- Development of a comprehensive communication and public relations plan including tangible plans on positioning of the Kenya Cancer Association brand.
- Position Kenya Cancer Association as the premiere cancer civil society movement leading in national cancer control programs.
- Degree or equivalent; or post graduate studies in a healthcare related discipline
- 10 years’ working experience; at least 5 years’ experience in senior management in a healthcare setting, preferably in cancer control and/or non-communicable diseases (NCD’s.)
- Proven experience of strategy development, designing and implementation of cancer control programs or NCD’s.
- Experience in operational systems development and implementation in healthcare set-tings.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Experience of brand building and/or promotions, as well as public relations in healthcare setting is mandatory.
- A demonstrable passion for NCD’s.
- Experience in budget development and planning.
- Experience in fundraising from diverse sources and leading organizational turnaround.
- Strong interpersonal skills that include relationship building and evidence of maintenance, networking, etc.
- Experience in engaging public sector players with knowledge of the healthcare system and networks at the Ministry of Health at national and country levels
- Experience leading and managing teams to achieve desired results.
- Probation period – 3 months
- Contract period- 1 year renewable subject to satisfactory performance
